From time to time, TSF will be hosting some non-soccer related events through our club (but never one that interferes with our first priority soccer schedule!). To that end, and with the Olympics at the forefront of everyone's attention at the moment, I thought some of you might be interested in giving Curling a try.
The Triangle Curling Club will be hosting an Open House session on Sunday, March 12th from 8:00 to 10:30pm at the Polar Ice House at The Factory in Wake Forest.
The Open House will include an off ice introduction and time on the ice where you will get to throw and sweep a stone. This is an excellent opportunity to come out and try curling. The session will be a “drop in format” so no registration is required. The cost of the session is $10/person, payable at the event.
All equipment will be provided, including brooms and sliders. Participants should wear warm, loose fitting clothing and a light jacket. Be sure to wear clean shoes with good grip (running shoes are good), and please do NOT wear flat soled shoes or anything with a raised heel. Gloves are also recommended.
I suggest we meetup at 6:30pm at Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant which is also at the Factory in Wake Forest. After dinner (and possibly a few drinks to "increase" stability when walking on ice) we'll head over to the Polar Ice House for the event.
Please RSVP here so I can make reservations for a table for us at Las Palmas since they will likely be busy on a Friday night.
